Our client, a Cybersecurity Company in Nicosia, is looking to hire an experienced Business Analyst to join the Research and Development team. This role is crucial for bridging the gap between business stakeholders and the technical teams, ensuring project success by creating detailed technical documents, including functional specifications and design documents. You will be instrumental in translating complex business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements and ensuring these are effectively communicated to and understood by the development team. This role requires a unique blend of analytical prowess, technical expertise, and cybersecurity knowledge to bridge the gap between our development teams and business objectives. The ideal candidate will work closely with Data Scientists and Data Engineers leveraging advanced modelling techniques and Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance our product's capabilities.

Responsibilities: 

1.    Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Involvement: 

  • Participate in all phases of (SDLC), ensuring that business requirements are accurately translated into technical specifications and vice versa. 
  • Work closely with the software development team to provide clarifications on business requirements and ensure technical solutions meet business goals and objectives.

2.    Requirements Gathering: 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document detailed business requirements for software development projects. 
  • Translate these requirements into functional specifications for the development team, ensuring alignment with business objectives. 

3.    Data Analysis & Insights: 

  • Work closely with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to understand data structures, underlying models, and algorithms. 
  • Provide insights that guide the product's development based on data analysis. 

4.    Analysis and Documentation: 

  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of existing systems, identifying opportunities for enhancement. 
  • Create detailed technical documentation, including system design documents, functional specifications, and UML diagrams, ensuring they accurately reflect business requirements. 

5.    UI/UX Design Contribution: 

  • Utilize UI/UX design tools to assist in developing prototypes, wireframes, and mockups. 
  • Ensure that interface designs align with both user needs and business goals and objectives. 

6.    Validation and Testing:

  • Engage in validation and testing activities, particularly focusing on ensuring that business requirements are accurately implemented.
  • Participate in QA and UAT, validating and testing bug fixes and new features from a business perspective. 

7.    Communication and Liaison: 

  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the development team. 
  • Facilitate effective communication to ensure mutual understanding and alignment between business needs and technical solutions. 

8.    Market Research and Competitive Analysis: 

  • Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, focusing on how these insights can be integrated within the SDLC to create competitive and innovative software solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on the intersection of business and technology.
  • 2+ years of proven experience as a Business Analyst, specifically in a software development context
  • Strong understanding in translating business requirements into technical specifications and vice versa.
  • Proficient in participating and contributing to all stages of the software development life cycle.
  • Experienced in UI/UX design like FIGMA, with a focus on aligning interface designs with business requirements.
  • Experience with entity relations and UML diagram creation, particularly in the context of software development projects.
  • Deep understanding of software development processes, preferably in an Agile environment. 
  • Fluency in Greek and English 

Working hours:

  • The working hours are 9am-6pm (20 min break), Friday afternoons off (hybrid working)
